Founded in
1832, Social Circle is a name remembered by most and, once visited, an
experience not easily forgotten. Town proud of its history and way of
life, it maintains its turn-of-the-century atmosphere by the hard work and
support of its people.
The town plays host to several restaurants including the renowned
Blue Willow Inn Restaurant Restaurant, considered the finest example of
Southern Traditional cooking in the South. Social Circle's large historic
district has over 50 buildings on the National Register of Historic
Places. These range from Greek Revival mansions, Neo-Classical mansions,
Victorian architecture to the old mill and mill village cottages.
Unique shops housing antiques, art galleries, Claude T. Wiley's General
Store (a walk back into the 1920's), doll shop, old-time hardware store,
and more. The visitors center will answer questions about Social Circle
and our area. Walking tour brochures are available. Slow down, relax,
enjoy great food and shopping and just rest and recharge.

Blue Willow Village, a turn of the 20th century Victorian
styled village of unique shops, Creation and Natural History Museum.
Georgia Originals, 1950's soda fountain, vintage toys and much more. The
museum and nine shops offer a unique experience. Village is opening in
Summer of 2008. |
